Product description:

Polymer casting gypsum with exceptional hardness and mechanical strength. A ready-to-use gypsum mixture that ensures accurate mold surfaces without the formation of crusts and pins. This high-quality gypsum mix reduces process time by eliminating the need to select ingredients.

Composition and features:

The mix consists of high-strength gypsum, acrylic polymers, mineral fillers and modifying additives. It is a uniformly mixed, ready-to-use, dry mixture with a light grey colour. Due to its mainly gypsum-based ingredients, it contains no harmful substances. It is ideally suited for casting without the use of a vibrating table.

Application and parameters:

This polymer gypsum is perfect for sculptures, 3D gypsum panels, decorations with complex shapes and garden and park architecture. It provides optimum process time and eliminates ingredient dosage problems.

The setting time is 40-90 minutes

Recommendations for the work:

Proportions: remember to add the gypsum to the water, not the other way round. First measure the correct amount of water and then gradually add the gypsum, sticking to the proportions on the packaging. Proportions can vary depending on the particular gypsum, so it is always worth checking the label on the pack. If you are adding dry pigments, deduct the correct amount of pigment from the measured amount of gypsum and mix the dry components dry before adding the water.

Mixing: can be done either manually, using a plastic spatula, or mechanically, using a E-CUPSTONE polymer plaster mixers. Pour the water into a suitable container and then gradually add the gypsum, stirring continuously for at least 90 seconds. It is important to mix all the ingredients thoroughly until you have a uniform, smooth consistency. Make sure you mix all parts of the mixture.

Pouring the mixture: Once the gypsum mixture is uniform, pour it into a suitable mould or onto the target surface. Make sure that the mould or surface has been properly prepared beforehand.

Colour changes in the case of HandiCast polymer gypsum, produced on a natural gypsum basis, are related to various factors, depending on the season. These changes are the result of variations in precipitation, ambient temperature and humidity at different times of the year. Natural gypsum extracted from mines can contain a variety of mineral and non-mineral additives that affect the colour properties of the material.

Also, it should be noted that the colour change of the gypsum can also be caused by the hardness of the water used to dilute it, the content of impurities in the water, the temperature and the reaction to the material of the silicone moulds, specifically to the oils given off by the silicone mould.

We try to adapt the formulation to these variables, which may affect the differences in shades and some parameters of HandiCast polymer gypsum depending on the season. For this reason, we recommend a test cast before full use.

How do you calculate the amount of polymer gypsum and water required?

New mould? Measure its volume with water and then calculate the values for obtaining the proportions of the ingredients.

All values are given in grams.

Example 1:

I have 180 gr of water in the mould:

Weight of gypsum (powder): 180*1.66 = 299 grams

Weight of water: 299 / 4 = 75 grams

 

Inorganic pigments based on iron oxides (dosage 0.1-15 % on a dry weight basis) are suitable for colouring the mixture.
